Definition and approaches. Christology (from Greek Χριστός Khristós and -λογία, -logia), literally "the understanding of Christ," is the study of the nature (person) and work (role in salvation) of Jesus Christ. [need quotation to verify] It studies Jesus Christ's humanity and divinity, and the relation between these two aspects; and the role he plays in g: Auschwitz. In A Passion for God, J. Matthew Ashley edits and translates the most important of Metz's recent essays previously unavailable in English. This diverse collection reflects on such issues as the crucial place of memory in Christian faith and in society as a whole, the role of religious in the Church, the meaning of the mystical virtue of poverty of spirit and the relationship between.

Christology, derived from “Christ,” referring to Jesus, and “-ology,” meaning “the study of,” is the study of Christ, both Jesus as a person and the works of Christ. Christology is far-reaching. This is certainly true of the two other volumes of what he himself labelled his ‘systematic contributions to theology’2: The Trinity and the Kingdom of God () and God in Creation ().

Darrell Fasching's Narrative Theology after Auschwitz [17] is a prime example for me since he does in his book much of what I have tried to do in my work. I see so clearly in his work what doing post-Shoah theology in this way means. Christology, Christian reflection, teaching, and doctrine concerning Jesus of Nazareth. Christology is the part of theology that is concerned with the nature and work of Jesus, including such matters as the Incarnation, the Resurrection, and his human and divine natures and their relationship. The. CHRISTOLOGY: THE STUDY OF THE PERSON OF CHRIST Introduction (Lesson 1) Christology comes from two Greek words, “Christos,” the anointed one or the Messiah, and “logos,” word, or study of things related to a particular subject. Christ Himself invites his disciples both ancient and modern to study Size: 44KB.
